  • Finance Committee

    Responsible for oversight of financial operations, including monitoring budget adherence, reviewing financial statements, ensuring regulatory compliance, and contributing to strategic financial planning to ensure long-term financial health and mission alignment. Its key duties involve reviewing financial  performance, providing guidance on budgeting and financial planning, developing financial policies, and  presenting financial information to the full board for decision-making. Committee typically comprises board members, staff, and community members with expertise in finance, investments, accounting, business, and non profit finance.

  • Development Committee

    Responsible for fundraising and donor relations to ensure the organization's financial sustainability. Key  activities include creating strategic fundraising plans, setting realistic goals, identifying and cultivating  major donors, and evaluating fundraising progress. The committee typically comprises board members, staff, and community members with expertise in fundraising, business, or marketing, and it plays a crucial role in securing resources to support the organization's mission.

  • Construction Committee

    Responsible for oversight of construction projects, identifying scope, challenges and resources needed in order to ensure timely completion. The committee supports on-site work by providing critical expertise in specialty construction areas, and provides additional support to staff by evaluating and researching critical issues, new technologies, and alternative plans. The committee typically comprises board members, staff, and community members with expertise in construction, the construction trades, project development, architecture, and site management.

  • Site Selection Committee

    Responsible for oversight of project management and site development, pre-construction. The committee supports the organization through ongoing pipeline development of properties, including  relationship-building with municipalities, community engagement, project due-diligence and permitting, and property acquisition and transaction support. Committee members typically have a range of construction and development skills related to site development, including long range and project planning, projection of construction projects, budgeting, real estate transactions, and municipal permitting.

  • Event Support

    Responsible for the oversight, planning, and facilitation of organization events. This would include fundraising events such as the annual golf tournament and gala, as well as additional events throughout the year.

  • Family Selection & Family Support

    Staff Only: Responsible for the oversight and implementation of house advertising, application process, evaluation  of qualifications and assets, and family selection in accordance with fair housing laws and regulations.  Provides ongoing support to family partners through clear and frequent communication and oversees the  process by which family partners meet the requirements of their obligations to SSHH. Committee members typically have a range of skills related to knowledge of fair, affordable housing, social work or  community support, and must have a high level of sensitivity and discretion.
