First of all, they gave me my miracle – that’s what I call my house. And to me, life is giving back – that’s always been my thinking. My family and I want to be able to give back to the community. We try to do what we can when we can.

ONE RIVER. LOTS OF DUCKS.
Have you ever wondered what it would look like to see 1,000 rubber ducks racing down the South River? What if one of those ducks could win you $1,000 of free groceries? Or $500 worth of gas? On September 11, 2010 you'll have a chance to find out!
ANATOMY OF A DUCK DERBY
It's pretty simple, really. Ducks will be on sale throughout town during the summer and on the day of the event. Each duck purchased will have a unique number on the bottom, and the first ducks to make it to the finish line will net their owners some rather fantastic prizes. Gas, groceries, gift certificates, and services from local merchants are all up for grabs.

UM, THAT'S INTERESTING... BUT, WHY?
Aside from the joy of seeing so many rubber ducks floating down a river, and the sheer entertainment of watching brave kayakers ward off swooping seagulls, the Marshfield Duck Derby is also the premier fund-raiser for South Shore Habitat for Humanity, Marshfield. For more information about the Duck Derby, please visit the Marshfield chapter's web page. |
